About

Why Butterfly Garden?
I love butterflies. I’m sure many of us do, both for their inherent beauty and for their metaphorical power as symbols of transformation. If we want butterflies, we have to create conditions that nurture and support butterflies.
That’s what a butterfly garden does.
Making a butterfly garden takes work. We need a plan. There is digging to be done. We have to deal with smelly compost. Our plants need water. Just when we think everything is going well, suddenly there are weeds all over the place. And then, some sunny morning, there are butterflies fluttering around the milkweed and landing on the lantana.
Let’s attract some butterflies into our lives.
Coaching Philosophy
Far too many of us are living stressed out and unhappy. We’re getting pressure from everywhere to work harder, do more, look better, and make sure to remember the snacks for the kids’ soccer practice. It’s not surprising that we find ourselves living on caffeine, only managing to wind down by plopping on the couch for a few hours of screen time. We think there is no alternative.
What if there were help? And some hope?
That’s my job. I see the strengths my clients have and the struggles. I work cooperatively with them to find the very first small changes that end up changing everything. Together, we can discover ways to reconnect to our best selves, to develop creative and lasting solutions to current problems, and to transform, not because there is an existing inadequacy, but because there are beautiful parts that need some space to be expressed.
Whether my clients need help with movement, stress management, rest and recovery, nutrition, or general wellness, I have tools and skills and toys to bring to the party. Yes, toys. This process is playful, experimental, and fun. We’ll play hard and laugh and get work done together. Learning and growing should be a pleasure.

Scope
This is the part where I put a bunch of disclaimers. I am not a doctor, a physical therapist, a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a nutritionist, or a rocket scientist. I do not diagnose or treat any physical or mental diseases. If a problem is out of the scope of my practice, I will refer out because that is right and responsible.
